The Home Stretch

on May 9, 2017

Dear Families:

My apologies for letting the first week of May pass by in a whirl of activity before I updated my blog. Having taken a personal day at the end of April to visit my older son in Dallas, I feel as though I’ve been swept up in a tidal wave of continual motion!

While I know deep down inside all of your children are ready to bolt from this building, the cooler temperatures have kept “spring fever” at bay. It’s only a matter of time!

We are truly in the home stretch, and students in all classes across all subjects are madly working to complete projects, give presentations, and enjoy the final weeks of feeling like “top dogs” in elementary school.

A few reminders about important dates/events in the weeks ahead:

May 16-17 — ┬áScience MCAS

May 24 — ┬áSocial studies project due

May 29 — Memorial Day (no school)

May 30 — Student visit to MSMS

May 30 — Parent visit to MSMS (7:30 p.m.)

May 31 — Spring Concert/Arts Night (6:30 p.m.)

June 9 — Field Day

June 15 — Fifth grade graduation (9:30 a.m.)

June 23 — Last day of school! (half day)

Please visit each page of my blog to find out what we’ve been working on in class, and call (781.238.5689) or email me ( with any questions!

    Hi Mrs. Jaffe,
Will graduation be the 5th graders last day of school?
    Thank you, Karen S

No. If you look farther down on the list, you’ll see that the last day of school is June 23. It’s a half day.
